I purchased this product for my Traxxas TX-4. This servo works really well with crawlers. Has Plenty of power. If you are going to be using this servo for another crawler then you are in fantastic hands. This is top of the line. The quality of the product is freaking on point. It looks sweet right out of the box. There is one thing I did not realize when I purchased this. You will possibly need an extra battery or BEC to run this setup in your crawler. It takes a little know how and somewhat of a hassle but boy o boy is it worth it. Overall great product, great customer service, and excellent experience.

Great servo, but what makes it better is the customer service. They stand behind the product after item is sold. The personal touch makes this product worth more than the price at which it's sold.

Finally got to finish my build post holidays and a wait for an upgraded receiver but it was worth it. The different between 6.4v and 8v was very noticeable and performance was great at both volts. Made for a better day of crawling in some pretty tough rocky terrain.

Great replacement for stock TRX-4

I had been looking for a steering Servo for my Traxxas TRX-4. There are many servos out there that are better than the stock Servo. I chose the Pro 470 because of its power and build quality. The machined aluminum case looks great too. I would absolutely recommend this Servo to anyone wanting to upgrade the TRX-4 steering Servo. I used a Samix aluminum horn and both were a quick drop in replacement with no modifications necessary. I used the Traxxas link and iPhone app to quickly set the endpoints.

I realize that the 470 was put together largely for the fliers out there, but it is performing admirably as the steeering servo in my Tenno MT410. I have really put it through some serious abuse (driver error!) over the last few weeks. I heard about it through a forum and am very pleased that I tried it out. Great Product at a an impressive price point. This will be my go to servo as I move through my stable of RCs. Thank you Promodeler!

After failures from several other brands doing rock crawling competitions, rock bouncing, and bashing I decided to give these servos a try. I have been extremely pleased with the performance. I am an experienced hobbyist with many RCs, and these are the best servos I have ever had. I bought 2 on my first order and since then have ordered 3 more. I am converting all my rigs that demand high torque servo's to ProModeler. Great Product!

Great steering for twin 91s

I've been racing RC boats for 40 years and one of my top boats, which runs in Multi Engine Hydro with two 91's for power weighs 15 lbs, and steering servos are a problem. On a friend's suggestion I purchased DS470BLHV for rudder, the DS90DLHV for throttle, and DS100DLHV for mixture.

Just powering up on the bench I could tell the difference right off the start. They were very smooth and quiet, so off to the lake we go. Fired up the pair of 91s on 55% nitro. Boat in the water and with ProModeler DS470 servos for steering, DS90s on throttle, and tiny DS100 micro servos on mixture the boat was driving straight and great. Never had a boat drive this smooth before. Exit off the turns was true and straight. No course correction was needed. Clocked with radar at 88 mph. Took home the hardware in 1st. These motors turn about 23,000RPMs. One run was about 15 laps. On our course 2 laps is 1/3 mile so 6 laps is one mile. This was a full fuel load of about 48 oz. total of fuel.

I like the way the boat ran so well the next week I ordered more servo's to replace the ones in another boat. Guess I'll be replacing servos in all of my boats as I get to them.

I purchased an original S420BLHV years ago. I have been running it in my Axial Bomber. It performs flawlessly in many conditions. When I purchased a Traxxas TRX-4 in spring 2017 I knew I wanted a servo that would perform in a competition setting as well as relentless weekend abuse. With the DS470BLHV I have had nothing but worry free crawls. The torque and smooth action makes precise tire placement a breeze. I can't say enough good things!

I couldn’t be happier!

This is my first aftermarket servo and I couldn’t be happier. I’m running it in my Vaterra Ascender and it’s working perfectly. It’s very strong set at 7.4 volts through a BEC, and could go to higher voltage but I’m more than happy with it where it is. It throws the truck around if you get the wheels in a bind and doesn’t even think twice. I’ve ran it through some shallow water about 3-4 inches and works perfect. The best of all is it’s almost silent! If I need another servo, another one of these is what I’m buying.

I love these servos!

Pros:
Cons:

I've waited till I got some experience before reviewing because I wanted to check wear. While a lot of servos are great new, they loosen quickly but after more than 50 flight (35% Slick 580) the DS470BLHV servos are still great. I love these servos! And support is excellent. For example, I had some initial issues with the servos acting 'jittery' when the engine was running'. I called and spoke with John and he pointed me to an ignition issue and it turned out to a worn spark plug caps on the high tension of the engine's ignition that was generating a bit of stray RF. New caps, and the problem went away.
