I purchased this for my model rock crawler (to replace the stock one). This servo is super fast and super powerful. The turning radius is a lot tighter also. I will definitely use ProModeler servos again!

Best servo for the buck

I've been playing with trucks for over a decade now. I consider myself to be a bit hard on equipment, especially electronics. I have three of these servos, plus three of the older generation servos. Short story is they outperform my Hitec 7950's and I can't seem to even kill a one. It's pretty rare for me to have a servo outlast its warranty period, so for them all to continue to function flawlessly is pretty amazing. I run them in "rock racers", like Wraith, Bomber, Twin Hammers. All with solid steering links, aluminum horns, and often times being driven with reckless abandon. I've bent Vanquish steering arms, ripped apart RPM variants of Revo rod ends, and even bent an axle housing with beef tubes inside. Yet the ProModeler servos soldier on!

I found out about these servos from some people online. I was pretty apprehensive at first. After receiving the servo, I installed it in an all metal Axial Bomber RR10. Vanquish Currie Rockjock axles aluminum 2.2 beadlocks wrapped in ProLine TSL Super Swampers, Mamba Monster X 1/8 scale ESC with a 3800KV TenShock sensored motor Running a 3s Floureon 3000 MaH 30c battery.

I ran it with a metal servo arm and promptly went to town beating the hell out of it. Cartwheels, 6 ft. in the air jumps, creek runs, hill climbs whatever i could do to it. After about 2 months of abuse I had my first failure . . . but it was the aluminum servo horn splines, not the servo. I sheared every one of them right off! They were all still stuck inside the teeth on the servo! It happened on pavement and was a one front wheel landing after an air born cartwheel. The servo was fine and had no issues whatsoever.

Since then I have installed a Proline Big Hit servo saver and beat it some more. It has seen a years worth of Bomber bashing and now it has been transplanted into my RC4WD Beast 2 but just until I can get the next size up for the Beast. Special thanks to John Beech for being such a great guy and bringing a level of pride, professionalism, and excellent customer service that is rare today. I will never build without ProModeler again!

I have not opened up the case, so I can not comment on the inside construction. But the outside construction is beautiful. CNC, all aluminum case. (6) Allen bolt screws top and bottom WITH rubber washer. I mean, they really look like a nice piece of tech. They center perfectly. I mean PERFECTLY! I really like the 25 T output shaft. It makes it easier to get geometry right. I also like that the servo arm screw is an Allen head, not the dreaded Phillips head. However I WOULD appreciate an Allen head with a bit more depth to it. These low profile screws can easily be stripped where the Allen tool goes into the head. Overall, I am impressed with this servo and happy with my purchase!

I saw this servo being discussed within the RCU forum and decided to try one. Then I was so blown away with how smooth it is - and that there's no noise - that I got four more for my Pilot RC Predator 2.2 (plus another four for my Top RC Odyssey 2.3m turbine). But beyond the servo quality, I've also been extremely impressed with the level of customer service.

I just ordered 6 servos Wednesday evening. DS470 brushless. The servos look and feel quite substantial. They have some heft, a real feeling of quality. I've not used them yet as they just came in this morning! Ordered Wed and Thursday morning I got a message that they had been shipped. Very timely call backs for info and as much friendly information as you can stand on the phone. Verbose I know, but I cant say enough about how impressed I am.

Excellent servo!

I purchased the DS470BLHV for use in one of my rock crawler chassis. I have always used Savox because of price needs, but this one fell right into my range and I wanted to try it out. I am so impressed that i will be switching as many trucks as i can to this servo. It's not as noisy, has great power, looks amazing, and the koozie they included was an excellent touch. I have used it for almost three weeks and can not say enough good things about this servo!
