I love this DS470BLHV servo

I love this DS470BLHV servo but I'm probably going to get the even stronger one for my heavy Wraith that this is currently in. Then once I get my SCX10ii project finished, this will go in there. Of course, then I will just HAVE to get the DS630BOHV for it. Anyway, thanks to John and ProModeler, great work!

Install, adjust, never have issues!

Bought two of the DS470BLHV servos - so far. Love them! Running them at 7.4V on a pair of rock crawlers. Both weigh 15 pounds. By comparison, I bought a Protek R/C T150 for my 3rd crawler (at 13lbs it weighs less but it soon burned out). Highly recommend the DS470BLHV instead. install, adjust, and never have any issues.

It's extremely quite and powerful

Been running this servo for a couple weeks now and it performs as expected. I've come from savox and man this servo even under binding (setting end points) it's extremely quite and powerful. It exceeded my expectations and it even took a couple dunks fully submerged under water. I like to test the limits and she fell in the deeper part of the rocks I was crawling that was under water. Will be getting one soon for my 8th scale!

My "go to" waterproof steering servo

Pros:
  • Speed
  • torque
  • cost
Cons:
  • none
I have been into RC for a few years and recently started enjoying RC cars, both for bashing and in the last 2 months for crawling. I had previously bought high-end servos from 2 other manufacturers to use as steering servos in 1/8 scale monster trucks. Both perform great! When I got into crawling, I realized that with all RTR vehicles the steering servo is a weak point. I stumbled upon ProModeler after reading Facebook posts in a group I belong to and purchased a DS470BLHV for my Traxxas TRX-4 on a whim. Well, I can say that the reviews on this site are spot on. The servo is dead quiet, very fast, and strong enough to power through anything I have attempted so far. From an aesthetic point of view, these aluminum servos are gorgeous. I enjoy expertly crafted things of all sort and this servo just looks and feels like a fine quality piece of engineering art. I bought my first ProModeler DS470BLHV servo less than a month ago and have already purchased 2 more for a Vaterra Ascender and RC4WD Marlin Crawler. The servo I have in my Arrma Talion costs over $230 and it is amazing, but if I had to do it again I would get a ProModeler and be done with it. If you are looking for a solid product with world class performance that is backed by a small company that clearly cares about it's product and the RC model community, I recommended that you give ProModeler a try.

I chose this servo due to the pretty much unanimous recommendations of several RC sites. Its in my 3s 2700kv Axial Bomber at 8 volts through a mamba x esc. Fast, strong, and shiny!

I was looking for a nice high-quality servo and this one caught my attention so I wanted to try it out for my TRX-4. This servo has great torque and is incredibly strong. My Traxxas TRX-4 has been in use a great deal in the very harsh and cold northern environment of Finland and the servo still held up. I highly recommend this servo to anyone who wishes to use their crawler in the most rugged and demanding environments. Thumbs up!

Research shows, this is the best

Pros:
  • Quiet

  • Effecient
Cons:

I did a lot of research into steering servos for my RR10 Bomber. Of course I looked at torque and speed but also power requirements of the servo and power limitations of the rest of the system. On paper the 470 had it all and was the most effecient. Having been an engineer for a defense contractor, I am very familiar with the requirements of MIL - STDs and testing. That convinced me that these servos HAVE to be good so I bought two, one for me and one for my brother.

The purchasing experience has been a pleasure. It's refreshing to do business with a company that understands Customer Service. I received the servos in 2 days in spite of a hurricane.

I've just begun to use the 470, but so far it's very powerful, quiet and looks amazing (although I would prefer a brushed aluminum finish.) I will not hesitate to purchase this servo again.

Servo on my heavy scx10

Rating:

Pros:
  • Light weight a strong and fast
Cons:
  • Power hungry needs bec

Putting this servo on my Axial SCX10 with the stock AE5 ESC didn’t really work that well. It was really weak. Called ProMolder and they suggested the BEC wasn't inadequate. After a little time and research discovered the AE5 is only good for 2A and 5 volts. Installed a proper BEC and this really brought this thing to life. Love it now. Very fast and strong - and I have very heavy rig and tend to beat it up pretty hard - not really anything unusually to roll it down a 30 foot rock face. Going to order another one soon for my Wraith. Oh yeah plastic servo horn don’t really work with this servo on a crawler. Striped 3 before I had to make a trip to the hobby shop to pick up a good aluminum one.

Pros:
  • Holds up to abuse
  • So shiny!
Cons:
  • wish I havnt waisted money on others
Had my bomber out a few times so far with the new servo. We drive hard and have some hard hits to the front in flips. Haven't had any issues with the PM 470. If I was to do it again I’d get the stronger servo they offer. My rig is around 8lbs and run aluminum wheels with xl tsl’s.

Yes ProModeler did it again! As a crawler I was impressed with the DS420v4 but the DS470BLHV is so fast and quiet it's my last servo for this truck.
